Hi there again just wondered how the new member policy worked?

as postings are nearly always replied to if you are an advanced member.

i have come on here to try and find out information regarding the front wiper motor. Now am i just being paranoid or is there a certain amount of posts i MUST make before i can get a reply? :P

No.

People just need to know the exact vehicle you have (you will see lots of posts that say 'my car' - well - what is your car?)

And of course the problem and when it happens. Details.

I havent seen your post, so it might contain all of that. If so - give it time. Once a discussion gets going the replies get quicker and quicker.

You must firstly join one of the numerous debates on the merits of diesel and V6 and which is better.

Then you must have had a wet passenger footwell (this builds sympathy) and express interest in VAG-COM or a TIS disc (appeals to the tech-nerds). If you have programmed a remote key then you get brownie points, and if you have had a bad experience at a Ford dealer, or believe that the parts are overpriced, then well ... you're in!

I know next to nothing about wiper motors, sorry.

There isn't a debate, diesels way better :P

Don't be silly - you forgot the 2.3 which is easily the best. Smooth, cheap parts (much cheaper than VW) and easy to work on.

Hi John - long time no talk... Is the :P caused by all that nasty soot?

:P

Its not that you are being ignored,,,,,,maybe the person/s who know how to fix, have not seen your post yet,,,,,,,, :P

And as for diesels V petrols,,,,,,who cares ,,,,,, you drive what you buy,,,,,, :P

Everyone knows that the initiation ceremony includes at least one obligatory posting along any of the following topics:

 whirring noise under nearside rear wheelarch after shutdown

 smoke from rear wheelarch

 has my Galaxy got a jet engine?

 what's that ticking noise I hear every winter?

 my exhaust seems a bit on the short side

Once posted, you are directed to read 153 pages on the subject from the search engine and, if you then pass your subsequent exam paper on booster heater technology, voila..........you're a true memeber and someone might respond to your query

All the best & Karmun, welcome to the site. We'll all try and help although a few folk are a real mine of information. The rest of us (including me) are just beginners by comparison.

String my friend.......

String, a usefull adition to any tool kit........... stuffed into the rear bit with the vent's that keeps falling off when the pushchair hits it.

String... that old friend.......... cut off the actuation arm from the wiper motor, the etch-a-sketch bit leave, then tie string onto the highest point on the nearest blade...and....bob's your uncle!! clear screen....

Tongue in cheek yes...

But I have done this to an old Mk 3 cortina many moons ago, coming home from Devon on a stormy night!

already got the wonder stuff in the rear compartment just in case, so i feel great knowing that i am not the only one who always expects thing to go wrong at the most inconvenient times. thanks to all your help.

Oh and one more entry requirement is to offer an opinion on the continued use of the engine undershield or to discard it like many have implied.

This will make you one of the most popular posting members.

However we havent yet joined the forums of other vehicles in having a poll as to the best colour......

Can I start one please ?

Silver is just great closely followed by Dark green....yeha were off to a great start.

No.... I feel more time is required on the undershield.......

Uses:-

Tobbogan

Plant holder

Shield against rayguns

Transformers chest armour

Aid for giant turtle's who have had shell stolen

Wendy house for guinie pigs

mould for jelly

And the best colour is Tourmalard deathmatch...................

That was just a regional thing, we only used it for yorkshire men :P but they got wise to it and refused to do it ;)

Nobody's mentioned the secret handshake

If your knuckles are completely bare of skin this handshake thing shows that you are a genuine Galaxy owner.

It's evidence of your efforts to change the front indicator & sidelight bulbs through the ridiculously positioned secret compartment in the front wheelarches <_<

Only true Galaxy owners's knuckles are bandaged up like boxers after the big night!

Yer not a REAL member until you've changed the cabin filter without removing the entire windscreen wiper assembly. And have severely grazed knuckles in the process. <_<
